2. First Website of Ecommerce in the World.
World's first ecommerce website was created by Michael Aldrich in UK in 1979. He Connected a domestic tv with a computer via telephone lines and made it available to be sold as B2B project.
The first commercial use of Ecommerce in the world started by Charles M. Stack with name of Books stacks unlimited. An online bookstore created by Charles M. Stack in 1992, was one of the earliest consumer shopping experiences.

Amazon started in 1995 as an online bookstore but grew to become the largest online retailer in the world. This lead to Amazon and Ebay Era of Ecommerce in the world.

This Era was started when FDI in Ecommerce in Pakistan came through rocket internet venture. They launched Azmalo.pk, Lamudi, Zamudi, EasyTaxi, Foodpanda, Daraz, Kaymu,Jovago. This era started in 2013 and lasts till 2019.
5- MARKET PLACE Era and Cold War between Daraz and Yayvo.com.
This is the era when Rocket Internet Ventures and TCS ventures were at peak. They have already killed 2nd era websites. Daraz was merged with Kaymu to fight with TCS backed Yayvo.com.Yayvo.com gave a tough competition to Daraz through first ever Local Ecommerce Shopping events like Black Friday. The aim of each market place is to hit the fastest ever 1 Billion Turnover. This era started from 2017 and lasted till 2020.
6- FASHION RETAIL Era of Gula AHmed, Limelight, Khaadi etc.
This is the Era when Fahsion retail websites started hitting Billions and multi billion annual revenues. Khaadi, Gul Ahmed, Limelight, BeechTree, etc are true examples of this era and they are ruling the ecommerce landscape right now in Pakistan.
Future of Ecommerce in Pakistan
The future of Ecommerce in Pakistan is quiet bright and stunning. Around 9 trillion economy is in the form of cash and kept by people of Pakistan at home and out of Bank. Since COD is 90% of the market the current potential is still under 5% of the total ecommerce potential in Pakistan.
Q-commerce and startup ecommerce websites played vital role in uplifting of customer trust and experience. But unfortunately, multiple apps ad webstie got shut down due to global recession. But services like Foodpanda, pandamart etc are still hitting huge numbers and continuing the legacy of Qcommerce in Pakistan.
